Here we interview a girl named Ana Rita, from Portugal, to talk about the cultures she admires. We asked her to focus in Europe, but she opted to talk more about Asia. If you are interested in Japan or Tibete, her answers are a good choice to know more! Click in View More to read the all article.
Japan:
- The children learn very early in school the basics of economy and how to manage their future house, how to cook, clean and other practical stuff, things they will need in their daily routine.
- When drunk, to avoid accidents, the drunks call a taxi;
- Recycling is almost a law, and lots of people collect garbage which was not produced by them.
- There is a kind of a "fitness choreography", called Radio Taiso", that everyone doe together before work, to keep healthy but also because they believe it will stimulate them to work better.
- Even people in high social positions often decide to use a bicycle instead of a car.
- The Ganbarou spirit. Ganbarou means "good luck", but it's also a characteristic of the Japanese people and symbolizes the willpower to overcome individual or collective problems, tenacity, and a compromise with everything they do.
Tibete:
- It's known as "the roof of the world", placed in Everest, the highest point on the planet.
- I admire the religion, Bon, close to Budism, a religion also very common in Japan. There's not anything as a creator God, it's more like a path of spiritual development
- Everyone is encouraged to find his own path. It doens't try to impose a truth to their followers.
